A double win: After earning national recognition with the Xaver Award 2024 for «Best Corporate Event», the innovative conference format «Lyreco Unboxed» has also made an impact on the international stage. The project was awarded Gold in the «Best Corporate Event DACH Region» category at the prestigious BrandEx Award.
«Unpacked and Transparent» – This tagline resonated deeply with the BrandEx Awards 2025 jury, securing the top honor for «Lyreco Unboxed». Zurich-based agency standing ovation triumphed over 38 high-caliber competitors with its unique dialog-driven concept, created for Lyreco Switzerland AG. More than a traditional conference, «Lyreco Unboxed» provided a platform for genuine transparency and meaningful exchange.
"Unboxed" symbolized more than open dialogue—it reflected a critical examination of ecological and social responsibilities across supply chains. "The discussions between experts from science, industry, and politics highlighted how essential it is to embrace sustainability holistically," emphasized Etienne Ruppen, CEO and owner of standing ovation.

Where Discussion Meets Experience – A Focus on Sustainable Solutions
On January 25, 2024, approximately 1000 guests gathered at the Umwelt Arena in Spreitenbach to experience an interactive dialog format that revealed the inner workings of the circular economy. Over 35 experts, ranging from climate activists to startup founders, engaged in open and honest discussions about the challenges and successes of their sustainability strategies.
Meanwhile, tangible solutions were brought to life through an interactive exhibition. Designed entirely with over 2000 reusable boxes provided by Lyreco, the exhibition was a powerful symbol of «reducing instead of just offsetting». After the event, the boxes were returned to Lyreco's logistics network, further underscoring the event's commitment to sustainability.
A Model for the Future
In addition to its content-driven impact, standing ovation embraced sustainability at every level of the event’s execution. From climate-friendly transportation options to vegetarian, locally-sourced catering, every detail reflected the event’s environmental focus. 42% of attendees arrived via public transportation and about 24% used carpools or electric vehicles. Unavoidable emissions were offset through corporate volunteering initiatives with the Swiss Mountain Forest Project.

«The concept of literally 'unpacking' sustainability struck a chord with both participants and the jury», said Claudia Gambini, COO of the agency. «These awards underscore the power of event formats that go beyond informing – they inspire real change». Building on the success of «Lyreco Unboxed», standing ovation plans to host more events in 2025, continuing to champion sustainability, transparency, and dialogue at their core.
